Mukkoti Vaikuntha Ekadashi
January 6th, 2020 marks the auspicious occasion of Mukkoti Vaikuntha Ekadashi, which will be observed at AMMA’s Sri Srinivasa Salagrama temple near Bangalore. For all of us struggling in the world, and even those drowning in an ocean of life’s problems, to merely have a single glimpse of Sri Saligrama Srinivasa’s enchanting smile on this day is enough to erase mountains of negative karma and eradicate hardships from our life.
Lord Shiva has stated to the Goddess Parvati, that observing Vaikuntha Ekadashi can bestow moksha or enlightenment, and on this day we are able to enter through the doors to Vaikuntha itself—it is a day the holds the secret to self-realization.
On this most sacred day, all of the Devatas will be present in their subtle form at the north entrance to the temple. It has been stated by the sages that if we humans also enter this same doorway to offer malas of tulasi dalams to the Lord in the early morning, we are blessed with the merits of having performed 10,000 Maha Vishnu Yajnas, and we attain the abode of Lord Maha Vishnu. For those who are willing and able, it has been said that fasting on this day is most auspicious, along with calling the Lord’s name, “Govinda,” and chanting the Narayana Ashtakshara Mantra, Sri Vishnu Sahasranama and Sri Vishnu Ashtottaram.
Throughout the day at AMMA’s Srinivas Saligrama temple, a number of extremely powerful pujas and ceremonies will be performed.. Sponsoring these ceremonies is equivalent to performing them with your own hands. See below to learn more about how you can participate and receive the blessings of this special day!
