In the month of Karthika, Lord Shiva showers his abundant grace on the sponsor for inner peace, physical and mental healing, and deep meditation. Karthika is the most auspicious month for worshiping Lord Shiva. Karthika Purnima is also known as ‘Tripuri Purnima’ or ‘Tripurari Purnima’ as it commemorates the victory of Lord Shiva over the demon named Tripusara. This sacred ceremonies bring mental and physical health, karmic purification, long life, and protection from accidents and untimely death. They also bring Lord Shiva’s blessing for pure, deep meditation.

On Kartika Purnima day, a special Chandi Homam will be performed at Amma’s Penusila ashram in India. Chandi Homam is a sacred fire prayer performed to invoke the blessings of Goddess Chandi – the fierce and powerful form of Goddess Shakti. She is the primeval energy and is responsible for the creation, sustenance, and destruction of this entire universe. She is hailed as the sum total of the energies of all lives in this universe.
